Here's a simple and classic recipe for barbecue sauce:

- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1. In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients.
2. Whisk the mixture until well combined and smooth.
3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
4. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool completely before using.
6. Transfer the barbecue sauce to an airtight container or jar and store in the refrigerator.
7. Use the sauce to baste your preferred meat or as a dipping sauce. Enjoy!
